Fedora 10 Installation

Hi All

Its been some time since I had been using Fedora. Thought could post some issues that I faced while am using it.

Lets start with the Installation and then will go ahead with the issues.

The installation was pretty cool. I just downloaded the Fedora 10 Live CD from Fedora Home Page.

Here are the steps I followed.

1. Download the Live CD/DVD ISO image for your platform architecture from Fedora Home Page.
2. Burn the CD/DVD Image.
3. Insert the disk and reboot the machine.

Installation is easy and very interactive. Hardly there will be any difficulties in installing.

Dual Boot With XP.

If you already have Windows and want to install Fedora as a dual OS, follow the below steps.

1. Download the Live CD/DVD ISO image for your platform architecture from Fedora Home Page.
2. Burn the CD/DVD Image.
3. Insert the disk and reboot the machine.
4. System will boot from the CD/DVD. You will be shown live CD desktop.
5. Double click the Installation Icon on the desktop. This will start the installation of Fedora 10.
6. In the Disk partitions screen, you will be provided with 3 options.
  • Using Entire partition.
  • Formatting existing Linux partitions
  • Resize existing partitions.
7. Select "Resize existing partition" option and browse the primary partition on your hard drive. This option will automatically partition the drive and allot the specified space for Fedora and will install the grub on it.

Rest all steps would be easier. And within less than an hour ur machine will have a fresh Fedora 10 installed.
